简介：　　成濑巳喜男反映乡村家庭伦理之作。寡居乡间多年的八重（淡岛千景饰），同家中的叔叔一起，为下一辈子女的工作和婚姻事务四下奔波。但年轻人却各自有着自己的想法，向往现代生活而不愿继续安守着祖上的田地，对父辈安排的婚姻也有保留，令长者心力交瘁。八重与一位已婚记者悉心地照顾着侄辈，妥善地处理好两代人的冲突纠纷，在这一过程中，两人情愫渐生，彼此隐约地珍存着这份超出友谊的恋情。　　末了，八重在对方选择逃避后冷静地克制住自己的感情，而叔叔对后辈的选择虽不以为然，却是无可奈何，卖出了耕作多年的田地后，也只能徒然感慨时代的无情变化。
